London’s review published on Letterboxd:
A lot of Welcome to the Jungle doesn't even feel like it should work. A lot of the set up and world building feels generic, but the cast and crew are able to transform it to an incredibly fun and cheesy adventure. It's so incredibly on the nose, but all of it is handled really well in my opinion and all the decisions feel completely intended, so that on the nose-ness that it indulges itself in just adds to the fun factor of the film.
Don't really think this film will get better on future re-watches, and I found that this watch some of the jokes felt a lot worse than before. I don't really think that it is necessarily a bad thing, as I got a good amount of enjoyment from the film three times, and if I can laugh at a joke on three separate occasions, then the film is doing something right.
I'm not a big fan of a lot of the Kevin Hart/Dwayne Johnson duo films, but the charisma they share is always great to see, and this film may be one of the best examples of that. All the actors do a great job and the on screen chemistry never ceases to falter. This is the true power behind the film: the cast having an absolute blast and that energy being captured in the film.
