The Master

The Master ★★★★

The film begins with the first half hour focussing on Freddy to convey the spirit and mentality of him after the war. Before he met Lancaster, he used to escape, escape from the war, and people mistaken him for poisoning a man. And after he met Lancaster, will that make his life really better? Or he'll never change. When Dodge gets him into his treatment by asking a question, undoubtedly it is one of the best scenes in the movie. Joaquin phoenix's performance is phenomenal. By bringing his past by asking those questions which he tries to hide and escape may be because of PTSD that he seems to be scared to face the past. The relationship between Lancaster Dodge and Freddie Quail is the opposite in terms of character personalities. Dodge with dignity calm, unlike Freddy, who is always drunk and has no point in life.
