A lot of people will say "all heart no execution" but I personally thought all the themes, which there is a lot of, were handled pretty well. The racial/culture themes, the love storyline and of course the Bruce Springsteen part - someone I am now a small fan of by the way, thanks to this movie.
This is the first movie I've seen from director Gurinder Chadha (will definitely watch Bend it Like Beckham at some point) but wow she can make genuinely good comfort food, something that is rare nowadays. Don't get me wrong, it's cheesy and even with my acceptance for what this movie was, some moments still felt a little cringe but I was so into this movie that those poorer aspects were smashed out the way; I particularly loved how relatable this was (to me) - the scene where he takes a midnight walk whilst blaring music into his ears was sooo me.
But yeah, very good movie. Heartwarming and Motivational, and exceeded expectations.
