Chris Chretien’s review published on Letterboxd:
All I'm going to say is this movie was an absolutely surreal and hilarious acid trip! This movie just got more and more bizarre as it went on but I loved it! This movie was filled with wild and insane characters making this one hell of an enjoyable viewing experience.
I had a huge crush on Kristy Swanson back in the 80s and 90s, ever since seeing her in Wes Craven's Deadly Friend. I managed to catch most of the movies she starred or appeared in, but I was never able to find this movie anywhere and eventually forgot about it. So, when browsing Horror movies on Tubi CA last night and when I came across this movie, memories came flooding back and I got all excited and hit play. Kristy looked good but not as good as she looked in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
All in all, this was an awesomely bizarre movie with great acting, cool guest appearances by Ben and Jerry Stiller, a beautiful Kristy Swanson as the damsel in distress and many funny scenes, one of which I am still laughing with right now as I am writing.
Charlie: Ah, hello!
Person on the other side of the phone: Yes. Motorist aid, what seems to be the problem?
Charlie: Ah, well, plenty. Um... My car's out of oil and yeah, won't start.
Person on the other side of the phone: Really?
Charlie: Really! Do you think I can get some help down here? Please.
Person on the other side of the phone: Now you're saying it's all out of oil and the car won't start.
Charlie: Yeah!
Person on the other side of the phone: SOUNDS LIKE YOU'RE WALKING GEEK! GET THOSE SHOES ON AND START DOING IT!
