Scarface ★★★★½

Scarface is a gangster epic combined with an excellent character study of a Cuban refugee who finds his way into the drug trade in Florida. Tony Montana has his eyes set on the world, if he gets the money, he gets the power and if he gets the power, he gets the woman; as said by Tony himself.

Scarface is a tragic showcase of the American Dream; Montana makes it to the top only to find the "top" not nearly what he expected it to be. Brian De Palma expertly makes use of colors for specific scenes and tensions to heighten emotion. Al Pacino is absolutely terrific as Tony, but he does say "cockroach" very strangely. This was very satisfying to remove from my blindspots, Scarface is a true essential viewing for everyone.
