Manuel Couto’s review published on Letterboxd:
Greener Grass is a wild and surreal comedy that satirizes american suburbia. Every character is exaggerated and over-the-top and their decisions make no sense whatsoever, but the brilliant premise keeps you entertained.
I enjoyed the humor, the production design, the costumes and, most of all, the dialogue. This screenplay is truly something else. The story unfolds in a ridiculous way and every joke lands in the process.
The movie is full of vibrant colors, complemented greatly by the outstanding score. The performances fit the movie perfectly and the line delivery is what truly makes the humor work for me.
I guess you could say this one explores competitiveness in a surreal and ridiculous way. Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe certainly have a unique style, and I can’t wait to see more from them. A hilariously bizarre masterpiece.
