Generic as f*ck. Vin Diesel is still not an actor, the script is standard at the most and the action is too timid most of the time. I couldn't see where the 89 million USD went except for some scenes in the finale. UPGRADE cost 5 million and is by far superior to this wannabe trash.

An intense and also weird drama that focuses on psychological illness. The surrealistic elements reflect the protagonists state of mind and leaves us, the audience, questioning what is going on. Allison Bries performance is stunning and the depiction of her mental health on point as we experience it first hand, not through other characters.
Totally worth a watch. One of the better Netflix films.

Countless scenes of exposition, a MacGuffin and Margot Robbie making faces do not add up to an intriguing - or in that matter any kind of - story. To top this of: Director Cathy Yan and her team don't know what emancipation means. A hint: It is not breaking someone's leg for a chauvinistic statement.
At least most of the stuntwork and Mary Elizabeth Winstead are fun.
