Aggressively stupid. More blood, but absolutely no brains. Or even worse, passion. It pumps out the gore with zero creativity or visual flair, the editing is a monstrosity and the plot’s basically just a string of badly-staged homages to feed fans. Green has used the Halloween franchise to exercise his own sense of generic humour inside a story that doesn’t mash well with it at all, and unfortunately this instalment has proved that he’s on the verge of tainting Carpenter’s legacy.
