This movie is so on the nose, Heroin by the Velvet Underground plays in the background while two junkies shoot up. Ben Mendelssohn is the best performance and role and everyone else, with the exception of Gandolfini, is either bad or forgettable. Everyone else was pretty bad including Brad Pitt. Bad shots and audio and everything else too.
I guess I didn’t pick up on the allegory shit, but it was still bad. Better actors and directing could have made that concept work better.
The music and the chemistry between Ryan Gosling and Carrey Mulligan is what will always keep me coming back, effectively making Drive an all time vibe movie for me. I don’t even care too much about 20% of the film that takes away from driver / the kid but Gosling is so badass Drive will always have a place in my heart.

Is there anything bad to say about this movie? I wouldn't call myself an Aaron Sorkin fan by any means, but the pairing of him and David Fincher with a perfect cast backed by a dynamite Trent Reznor / Atticus Ross score results in an absolutely incredible film. Everyone involved in this movie knocks it out of the park. I almost had to root for Zuckerberg because Eisenberg is so damn good in this.

What a trip. Outstanding performances by Pattinson and Dafoe culminating in a movie that feels very original for the time we are in and the perfectly timely quarantine movie. It has that old time movie feel with the 16:9 ratio, but you just know off the bat a movie this good wouldn't be made this way when black and white film was still a thing.
