Kingsman: The Secret Service

Kingsman: The Secret Service ★★★★½

I’m a Catholic whore, currently enjoying congress out of wedlock with my black Jewish boyfriend who works at a military abortion clinic. So, hail Satan, and have a lovely afternoon, Madam.

Colin Firth really said that line to a bigoted church lady and I 100% respect him for it.

What if you mix the campy parts of Roger Moore’s Bond tenure, with the darkest parts of Dalton’s Bond tenure, mix with “First Class” and have Matthew Vaughn as director...... This surprising fun, entertaining comic book film.

As Vaughn’s third outing doing a comic book film, this one surprised me more than what he did with “first class” while the latter probably still remains the better, what he did with “Kingsman: The secret service” is fantastic from the beginning scene to the last scene.

I love his direction. When it comes to the action sequences, there are plenty, and they are fun as hell! I love the editing of the fights. It’s so weird and bonkers, but it feels something fresh at the same time. What else can I say about THE church scene that hasn’t been said already????? I love it! Definitely one of the best comic book scenes! And one of the best action scene in recent time! Everything about it is really something special! I love his writing. It’s very snappy as well.

The cast is stacked and each one brings their A-game. Oscar winner Colin Firth is for me the stand out. This is something that I haven’t seen from him before. He was so amazing!!! Taron Egerton in his first role is great. Having Samuel L. Jackson as the villain is great to see. I could see he was having a lot of fun in the role. And it was good to see Mark Hamill in the very small role that he had (at least he had more to do in this than in “Force Awakens”)

The humour lands. Pretty much all the time. It’s just more fresher than a average comic book film. The pacing helps this quite a bit. It’s a fast paced film.

This was a entertaining and surprisingly good film.
