Century's of history can do nothing but prove the injustice of the white man, Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is a clever film, entirely set in a recording studio, the blues and the drama set pace hand in hand. Astonishing performances by Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman are for sure the main subject in this elegant piece about black life. The film has one of the most elegant cinematography I've seen this year and surely one of the most polished direction. I sure hope this picture will get the recognition it deserves, but in the meantime, let's all remember, Black people had invented true music before anyone came to stole it.
