Rien de vraiment trop nouveau mais ça fait prendre l'air et je suis toujours content de voir ce que fait Ariane parce qu'elle est, à mon avis, un des meilleurs espoirs pour le cinéma québécois.

The Trial of the Chicago 7

    ★★★½

Sorkin is one of Hollywood's greatest working writers and he's also a very good "old school" kind of director but here I think he might have had too much time.

Also, I hate when movies end on title cards that explain what happened after the events of the movie just before the credits. If it matters, put it in the damn movie ! In film school we say "show don't tell" but it should be "show don't tell and pretend nobody can read".

Obviously meant as a companion piece to Hill House, with the same creator, returning players, the same score and the same general aesthetic and themes. The big differences are firstly that here everyone have English accents and secondly that Bly is a place and not a family.

I wonder if there is going to be another one of these... Both were new extended new takes of great classic gothic ghost stories, while also being homages to beloved classic films, whether…
