Matt Thomas’s review published on Letterboxd:
This completely blindsided me.
Never did I expect such a compelling, contemporary story with both social commentary and humour. Not all the characters are clearly drawn but front and centre is a powerful piece of work from Daveed Diggs. It might not be your typical Oscar winning performance but he would completely deserve the recognition. A proper 'wow' monologue/rap at the end sealed the deal.
This is the sort of film that Spike Lee would be making if he were a young man again. Passionate, angry, yet with a humanity and heart to die for.
