Matthew Lucas’s review published on Letterboxd:
It may have some continuity problems with the rest of the series (why is Godzilla suddenly afraid of electricity? And why does everyone seem to recognize him yet simultaneously seem surprised that monsters exist?), but KING KONG VS. GODZILLA is easily one of the most entertaining Godzilla films. The newsroom framing device is a bit unnecessary, and King Kong's orangutan inspired costume is pretty bad, but watching these two iconic monsters go at it is undeniably fun. And the more lighthearted tone this third entry in the series takes is agreeable without being overly silly. Can't be taken seriously, but can't be completely dismissed either - this film struck a delicate tonal balance between action and comedy that later entries in the Showa series would have trouble finding.
