This final installment of the Harry Potter series delivers on what is most beloved and important within this universe: MAGIC, HOGWARTS, THE COMPLEXITIES OF SEVERUS SNAPE, RUPERT GRINT KILLING IT, and... ICONIC DUMBELDORE QUOTES.
Unrelated to the film itself, but necessary in capturing the true magic of this film and the feeling it continues to leave in my heart no matter how many times I rewatch it: as the clock struck midnight to signify the end of the hellish year that was 2020, Voldemort was being vanquished on screen.
Only grievance: any and all kissing (@Hermione/Ron and Ginny/Harry)... Rupert can cause tears to spring in my eyes in his performance while mourning Fred’s death but the long anticipated kiss with Hermione was cringey? Rough.
To end on the high note that captures the general feeling of hope and invincibility that I feel after watching that beautiful payoff, perfectly paced and engaging as hell film: the score was breathtaking and elevated the film in ways never done before, specifically the Courtyard Apocalypse theme.
