Any film that has me coming out of the cinema instantly wanting to read the source material is top tier in my eyes, i was glued to the screen, grasping at everything this film had to offer.

A sprawling sci-fi epic with scope and ambition like no other film i've seen in 2021 so far. The cast is excellent, i enjoyed a brooding Timothee Chalamet as Paul and Rebecca Ferguson and Oscar Isaac are also stand outs here.

    The technical…

    The Godfather: Part II

This really is one of the greatest sequels ever made, the way it’s both a sequel and prequel simultaneously is absolutely brilliant. I loved how both story lines contrast each other and manage to keep you engaged, although I did find myself slightly more interested in Vito’s back story and I kind of wish he was given a full prequel film.

I loved De Niro’s take on Vito and seeing his rise to power. I can only imagine how hard…

After enjoying The Grand Budapest Hotel and Fantastic Mr Fox I was really looking forward to this but unfortunately it just didn’t do it for me.

The cast is excellent, it’s probably one of the best ensemble casts I’ve seen in a while, it’s just a shame some of the cast are wasted. The visuals are brilliant, they’re everything you expect from a Wes Film, it’s aesthetically pleasing.

However the anthological approach to story telling wasn’t for me. I…

    Twin Peaks

    Damn fine cup of coffee

That iconic sentence from coop basically sums up how I feel about twin peaks. There was nothing here that I didn’t enjoy, the plot, the mystery of the killer, the characters, the town of twin peaks itself, they all had me hooked, even when the pace slowed down midway through season 2, I was still on the edge of my a seat anticipating the arrival of Coop’s Nemesis.

The finale delivered and ramped back up…

    Halloween Kills

I’m disappointed, but it was still a fun time at the cinema.

The score as always in Halloween films is absolutely iconic. We get a really good interpretation of Michael in this film. His brutality is on a another level as you see him tear through haddonfield residents in the most gory way. He becomes almost this sort of mythological being where he has the whole town on edge just at the uttering of his name and that was pretty…

I can’t believe it’s taken me so long to watch this film. It really is everything it’s hyped up to be, I don’t have much to add that hasn’t already been said about this film but I have to at least mention that baptism scene because that really is top tier cinema.
