Definitely one of the stranger entries in the Friday series (up there with Jason X), which throws a lot of things at the wall to see what sticks.
Sadly for all the original ideas they had for this entry, it was caught up in an intellectual property & copyright hell. After many rewrites, the final script was written in a week, and it shows.

I think the biggest problem with this remake (though I like the few changes from the original) is that it's too short. It really needed another 10-15 minutes of interaction between the characters, particularly Judd & Louis.
No one in the film comes across as particularly likeable, and once the third act kicks in, I didn't really care what happened to any of them due to how little fleshing out was done. I liked the cast, especially Jason Clarke & John Lithgow,…
