We're All Going to the World's Fair

At risk of repeating what others have said better, I think this captures so well what it felt like to be young and extremely online in a world before (or apart from) social media, to the extent that I wonder how Gen Z viewers will respond to it. (If they listen to Alex G they will probably like it.) There’s an attention to the liminality of physical and virtual spaces that inevitably brings to mind Kiyoshi Kurosawa but also the moments you caught yourself staring into space in your apartment from sheer boredom during quarantine (a moment this film apparently predates but certainly embodies). Also has a particularly inspired image of cinephilia as a literal disease.
