Jordana’s review published on Letterboxd:
A time-capsule of an amazing cast who would go on to become veterans in Carpenter's filmography. It has been such an enthralling ride exploring many of his works for the first time (or just really being able to appreciate them). This one had a lot more depth than I assumed it would - I initially thought it would be another shoot em up entry from the 80's: oh how wrong I was. I didn't even realise that his holiness, Donald Pleasence, starred in this - let alone as the President of The United States! Not to forget for all of us diehards, Jamie Lee Curtis' voice work over the P.A. system, which would occur later in Halloween III: Season of the Witch.
I love that this is post Halloween and The Fog, but just on the cusp of The Thing et al., and Carpenter already has sealed a signature cast and distinctive style within his film-making.
