i mean, this is it, right? this is the horror movie. this is what all horror movies aspire to be. it is a masterclass in building tension. and i can’t imagine seeing this for the first time in theaters in 1978 - it must have been terrifying. every camera movement is intentional and incredibly thought out and build michael myers into an even more menacing character. it’s so simple, but i think that makes it all the more scarier. this was released 40 years ago today and it still holds up!! it’s a classic for a reason!!
