Süden ★★★½

It's hard to rank this - but it's fascinating to watch Christian Petzold conducting experimental, montage-as-art filmmaking, revelling as always in emptiness and a sense of longing told simply through abandoned books. That said, I'm glad his style has changed over the course of a near 30 year career from this debut - without that we wouldn't have Transit or Undine. At only 10 minutes, there's not really much to say.
