At first I wasn’t sure what was the whole ‘hype’ around this movie but as i kept watching i truly fell in love with these two women. I have never seen so much arc development in 2 hours and im very happy I witnessed it. Im just mad it was directed by a man but i forgive them because the (academy winning) screenplay was written by Callie Khouri, and we love her.
Started with a weekend trip (away from unhappy marriages) and ended with the denial of going back and being damned for stopping a rape (and the little details).
This is not your average friendship movie, and thats what i also love, they both find so much strength and bravery within themselves. They relay on each other, since the beginning, while discovering who they are deep inside. You get to see two friends who keep learning to trust each other, be each other accomplice and not let the other settle with less than what they deserve.
Definitely will be recommending it to every woman I know and possibly quoting it for the rest of my life.
