    A Clockwork Orange

The screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys emotions and moods that no other art form can hope to tackle.”
    — Stanley Kubrick

A Clockwork Orange is a vile representation of the vulgar happenings of the real world, and nothing more than an utter masterpiece. Directed by Stanley Kubrick in 1971, the film follows Alex (Malcolm McDowell) and his droogies (another word for ‘friends’ in the Nadsat language, which…

    Soul

    ★★★★½

Soul is the best Christmas gift that Disney/Pixar could have given to the world. Jamie Foxx is actually great in this. The music is absolutely phenomenal, and the animation is great. Pixar has gone far since Toy Story (1995in terms of animating people. The plot is superb; this is the most beautifully meaningful movie I’ve seen in a while, and certainly one of, if not the most meaningful film by Disney! My only critique is that the beginning is paced…

Looks like I’m not sleeping tonight! Jordan Peele makes horror films more effectively than anybody else in the industry while still doing comedy and being the voice of Bunny from Toy Story 4 (2019), and for that he has my upmost respect.

    Silver Linings Playbook

    ★★★★½

Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro gave splendid performances in Silver Linings Playbook, along with Jennifer Lawrence and Jacki Weaver. David O. Russell directed and wrote the movie brilliantly, in collaboration with Matthew Quick, the author of the 2008 novel of the same name. Masanobu Takayanagi‘s camerawork is gorgeous; he primarily shot with an ARRICAM Lite film camera, which is certainly one of the best cinema cameras around. Definitely recommended!

    When Harry Met Sally...

    ★★★★½

For years, people have told me that When Harry Met Sally is one of the best comedies to ever exist; they sure weren’t wrong! Rob Reiner always provides his viewers with quality entertainment, and this movie is no exception. The story and characters are humorously captivating and engrossing, due to Nora Ephron‘s masterful writing and Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal’s chemistry as Harry Burns and Sally Albright. For those who are fond of clever romantic comedies, this is recommended to you.
