Jack Russo’s review published on Letterboxd:
Remnants of noir after the shadows eclipse in form, leaving a solitary staircase, an abandoned car and the breeze that’s sifting through an apartment. Whatever happened is now a fiction, more literally a page turner robbed of its intended mysteries by the sun.
Through it all Petzold keeps it in the abstract, his montage using association to inflict suspicion from insinuations built upon empty imagery. Evocative in their stills, but these hypothetical threads hit a laboured standstill whenever its human subjects enter the frame, as obfuscated as they are.
