I have such a weird relationship with this movie. I first saw a clip of the ending on TV or somewhere, and it was noticeably great so I later watched the rest of the movie expecting to be thoroughly ensorcelled in even more greatness. Much to my consternation/chagrin/befuddlement, I thought the ending (and even the beginning!) were great, but somehow I found the film as a whole disappointing. But for some reason I couldn't shake the vivid memory of those…

Quickie Review
In this science fiction action-thriller produced and co-written by Alien & Total Recall scribe Ronald Shusett, stock car racer Alex Furlong (Emilio Estevez) is seemingly killed in a major crash but just before the car crashes and explodes, he's flung into the future year of...2009. His healthy body has been chosen to be sold to Ian McCandless (Anthony Hopkins), the ailing head of a major corporation, but he escapes and chased around in a nightmarish dystopia where he has no…

After watching both the original and legion cuts, and all the extra on the Arrow blu ray, including multiple commentaries and docs, my appreciation and love for this film has climbed higher and i've boosted my rating from a 6 to a 7 or 3 to 3.5 stars.

I see much more of the comedy in it now and both versions give a slightly different slant and spin on the movie and I like elements of both though think I…

I honestly have no time for all those folk who get hung up on this because of the accents and the geographical inaccuracies and so forth, and refuse to take it for what it truly is.
It's a glorious piece of blockbuster entertainment - an unabashed, old school piece of high adventure marshalled by a severely undervalued director who knows how to deliver a majestic action sequence of bombast and beauty; the finale itself is a massive, multilayered piece full…

Utterly fantastic, one of my favourite westerns ever to be honest.

Has the great characters and comedy of the first one, but the increase in scope gives it a timeless feel that most westerns have.

Emilio Estevez is so good in this, and really sells the highs and lows of this tale.

It just builds on the first really well, but improves on everything

This movie is an absolute delight. It's fun, campy, with a hint of cheese and that's exactly how I like my movies.

True romance indeed. A love story like no other. Bonnie and Clyde vibe. Tarantino didn’t direct this one but did the screen play and writing. I think it’s his best work, and by far his most under valued film. This is an absolute must watch, slow start but a gut punch ending. Possibly my favorite on screen love story. Watch it on a rainy day or at 2 am alone.

The absolute best baseball movie ever made. It literally checks everything off the list. Sound, pacing, editing, directing, great characters, etc. Everything is exactly where it should be and there’s nothing that’s out of place. I suppose young people today would find lots of stuff offensive about this movie (i.e. Charlie Sheen and the racist iconography), which would probably defer them from watching it. It’s a shame because this film is marvelous. I haven’t seen every baseball movie, but I know it’s damn near impossible to find one better than this.
