On the surface, Greener Grass is a bizarrely hilarious dark comedy about two suburban soccer moms and their competitive spirit towards each other. Although, It’s a lot more than that.
This is what true satirical comedy is about; misunderstood at first, but is genius on all levels. The comedic timing of the jokes and the overall randomness of the plot just worked in a weirdly cohesive way. The film has a way with bright colours, and I appreciate the vibrancy of the colour palette so much. It’s pretty reminiscent of those Adult Swim sketches found on YouTube. I heavily admire the originality of the film, despite its crazy premise.
