I'm completely amazed by the animation in this nearly 20 year old film, and not just the gorgeous and detailed environments, character designs or the way light is used, but also in the way that these fish seem so real to me in the way they move in the water, but especially in how they emote.
One moment that stood out to me was when Gill is disappointed in himself for putting Nemo in harm's way, the shame he feels…
God-tier. Anyone who doesn't think this is Scorsese's best work in at least over two decades has a poo poo brain.
Everyone involved in the making of this should get a lifetime ban from working in the film industry. Honestly don't believe this is real.
I've watched this thing countless times as a kid, and the beautiful thing I can say is, it's still perfect.
Collective trauma brought on by nature's engulfing beauty and mystery. A search for answers and catharsis from an unknowable and unresponsive force. Hope and faith in crisis when there is no resolution. Magnificient.
