With so many narrative and visual concepts, half way through, Soul feels a bit too ambitious for its own good... But the wrap up of this story is so clean. Somehow in that one epiphany scene, everything comes together perfectly. Somehow, Pixar continues to make you appreciate life.
You wanna hurt me? Go right ahead if it makes you feel any better. I'm an easy target. Yeah, you're right, I talk too much. I also listen too much. I could be a cold-hearted cynic like you... but I dont like to hurt people's feelings. Well think what you want about me. I'm not changing...
I like... I like Cats. My girlfriend likes Cats. Some of my friends likes Cats. Cause its a real movie.. what you see is what you get.
This movie... oh boy...
...its more impressive on how this film is structured around Sandler's talents. throughout his career he's always carried that bottled anxiety mixed with his timid soft spoken delivery. this movie pulls that into fruition in a beautiful way. its almost like the character was written around Adam Sandler himself. This performance, mixed with the constant unnerving of the direction. Every scene feels chaotic and you understand that anxiety that Barry is experiencing. That tone is clearly echoed by the score.
... this movie is good. I'm serious!
