Starring the great Tim Heidecker as Fabian

    The Many Saints of Newark

Not a prequel, but a distant memory of a long-standing mythos that loses power every time it’s retold. Could never appear as a real movie with that colour grading, instead we get a disjointed and nonsensical continuation of the show that feels more like the beginning chapter of an Out 1/Berlin Alexanderplatz type deal than a standalone “Sopranos Story.” Great writing and casting, three great scenes and no bad ones, but still feels totally hollow. Too weird to discount.

  • Her

Her is very similar to Spike Jonze's Adaptation, where for a majority of the movie it is just ok, but it propels to extraordinary heights at the end. It's hard to put the films beauty into words so I won't say much. The movie is very visually rich as Jonze's movies always are. Every single actor is great in the movie. The score is also really great. This is one of my favorites of 2013 and one I can rewatch again any day of the week.

edit: this review is bad lol
