I have one major complaint. But this kind of dry comedy, a cross between Yorgos Lanthimos and James Gunn, feels tailor made for me. If Riley Stearns makes another movie of this caliber. He might be my favorite director to discover since 2018.
Like 'funny games' in a car. Although maybe tonally closer to something like 'the exam' or one of those other bad guys kidnap people and do horrible things to them, movies that went right to a random dvd pack. But I do love movies about people going through the ringer and doing what they can to survive. This movie survives on a fantastic villain performance and some legitimate tension. High 3, maybe 3.5.
