    tick, tick...BOOM!

    ★★★½

Sorry for being inactive lately. I'm on vacation and -- truthfully speaking -- I didn't want to get distracted by movies and such. Anyways, Tick... Tick... BOOM! Is one of the most pleasant surprise of the year. I'm not a theatre guy and seeing how invested I am in a Jonathan Larson semi-autobiographical genuinely surprises me. The screenplay is tight, the songs are all catchy. If I have to pick one, it will most likely be Boho Days. The story…

  • The Warriors

    The Warriors

    ★★★½

Walter Hill's The Warriors is a film with wasted potential. I wished they explored a thing or two about the whole mythology of the gangs of New York and I wished they put The Warriors through more obstacles. Still, a good film. Final Verdict: C+

  • Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings

    ★★★½

Kind of messy plot-wise and the CGI could be rough on edges at times. Nevertheless, I still think that Shang-Chi is a good film. It's humorous, It's action-packed, It's fun -- It's everything you'd expect in an MCU film and whatnot.

    Final Verdict: C+

  • The Silence of the Lambs

    The Silence of the Lambs

    ★★★★★

Initially wrote something far more better than this but screw it, here goes nothing. Jonathan Demme's The Silence of thr Lambs is a film so meticulously crafted, It reminded me of how much I love cinema.

    Final Verdict: A+

  • Mommy

    Mommy

    ★★★★½

Ethereal, poetic and melancholic. Those are the words I'd use to describe Xavier Dolan's Mommy in three words. The 1:1 aspect ratio enhances the beauty of the film while simultaneously serves as a metaphor for when the character is experiencing pain, sadness or unpleasantness. I believe I'll like it more second-time around.

    Final Verdict: A-

  • The Goonies

    The Goonies

    It's charming, It's fun, It's humorous -- It's everything you'd expect in an 80s coming-of-age adventure film.

  • Enter the Dragon

    Enter the Dragon

    ★★★½

Robert Clouse's Enter The Dragon is a film that I found to be a tad disappointing. The acting is lackluster and the choreography isn't as impressive as I thought It would be. Nevertheless, I still think It's a good film. It's a fun 70s Bond-esque martial arts film. No more, no less.

    Final Verdict: C+

  • 12 Angry Men

    12 Angry Men

    ★★★★★

It comes to no surprise that Twelve Angry Men is a masterpiece. What started out as a simple guilty-or-not-guilty vote turned out to be something far more complicated than any of them would've imagined. It's a film about justice, innocence and class -- on how we should dive deeper to seek the truth. I feel like I didn't do this film justice but oh well.

    Final Verdict: A+

  • Army of Thieves

    Army of Thieves

Matthias Schweighöfer's Army of Thieves started off pretty well, but became somewhat duller as the film progresses.
