Imagine having Ari Aster, Josh Safdie, Trey Edward Schultz, and Edgar Wright in your Special Thanks.
Watched this high last night so wanted to come back to it ASAP to make sure that what I felt about it was legitimate and not just me getting really excited about boats. Yeah, it holds up. Such a fascinating blend of historical detail, modern horror elements, Bergman-esque existentialism, and German expressionism. So narratively disorienting, but I think the disorientation, among other things, is what makes this such an obvious step forward for Eggers from The Witch.
Also, I LIKE BOATS!
