Big movie fan from the UK. My two favourite hobbies are nails and movies, hence the username Nailvies!
The hype for this is insane. I've literally seen a couple of people say it's the best film ever made! Many people are saying it's the best film of the decade and most seem to be saying it's the best film of the year. It was good, but it wasn't great (in my opinion, of course). The messages and metaphors were very on the nose and didn't feel anywhere near as groundbreaking to me as they seem to have been to others. It was funny and entertaining for the most part, but it could been shorter. All in all, good but not great.
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Spoiler alert: this film contains pretty brutal miscarriage / baby loss scenes, and I don't recommend it for anyone who might struggle with that kind of content. That being said, I really enjoyed this! It was creepy and psychologically scary throughout, with zero jump scares or anything like that. Clémence Poésy was great, as was most of the cast. I thought this was surprisingly well done.
