David Albee’s review published on Letterboxd:
Dagum. This was good.
But again, why do classic horror films seem to need to go outta their way to show female breast. The males gaze, well, it wasn’t like the modern male gaze... but yeah..
But also. I think this time period was not only Revolutionary with Horror, but also culturally reactionary. Idk, I’m still learning about it.. it’s like whaat I know about the era, the films are telling a story of sexual chastity, while still being exploitive to the female body.
But off of that topic. The scares in this film were legitimately terrifying and realistic.
And Young Jamie Lee Curtis is fantastic!
