This was a film I watched a lot in my childhood, partly down to my mum being a big Cliff Richard fan. It is still watchable, yes, but it is super cheesy.
There are few directors who seem to put in as much effort to a film visually than Wes Anderson. I have always loved his attention to detail, seemingly putting in the greatest attention to the smallest things.
This film, like so many of his previous films, is a joy to behold. The visual masterpiece on show; from the brilliant costumes to the glorious sets, was just astounding. Add to that the usual top notch assembly of cast members, the witty dialogue and the brilliant score and you have another triumph.
