Wax, or The Discovery of Television Among the Bees 1991
about to get annoying in this review...
i fucking loved this. so incredible. a huge pulsating pixelated mass of information, obtuse symbolism, esoteric symmetry, noise, hidden corridors, cyber imagery, mazelike reasoning...totally engrossing. this movie feels like it is 1000 years long because it takes you fully into its world.

E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial 1982
it is a testament to spielberg's filmmaking ability that he managed to make this a family classic with an alien looking like that. e.t. is just as disgusting and bewildering a design as like mac and me or a gnome named gnorm, but spielberg somehow makes it work.
