So I wouldn't say I'm a wrestling fan. But in my middle school early high school days I did watch The Rock and company on (back when it was called) WWF. 😂 And Total Divas and Total Bellas are the only reality shows I watch now ha ha. So I am pretty familiar with WWE and Paige and her story and especially how close she is with her family.
I loved the casting. Florence Pugh was perfect! There were a few times where I genuinely believed she was Paige! She was so great. I remember watching Pugh in Lady Macbeth and thinking, she is going to blow up. I am really going to enjoy watching her career grow. 😍 Loved seeing Jack Lowden here, loved him so much in Dunkirk so it was great to see him again. Nick Frost and Lena Headey were fun additions as well. Just really enjoyed all the cast.
I thought this was filmed fine. I would get the chills every time they would show the ring. 😊
The music really didn't stand out as much as I like but I guess it worked.
The story was nice. I liked how they portrayed the family dynamic. There were some very touching moments, got teary eyed a bit ha ha. I thought there were some great jokes and put in some great places. It was a little slow throughout for me but I think it came together nicely. I wouldn't mind owning digitally and rewatching again but don't see a ton of rewatches with it. It's a nice, fun movie and I'm glad Paige got to tell her story.
