this film deals with a lot of different, heavy themes in a very unique way without it feeling overwhelmed. it wasn't a light hearted movie by any means, but it didn't feel dark or gloomy either. it was surprisingly funny and colorful while still being emotional and serious. all of this was achieved through the fantastic performances from daveed diggs and rafael casal, who also wrote the movie. the performances were raw and real, and i'm kinda pissed they haven't gotten any praise this award season because DAMN.
