Please just leave Farces to the British.

I'm aware that the idea behind this film is meant to be a satire and critique of the 'sophisticated,' albeit dull, high-society lifestyle of 1930s French aristocrats, but perhaps Renoir achieved this message in his film a little too well because The Rules of the Game is agonizing to watch.
