possibly the most heavy handed bond plot, as hard as that is to believe. also some of the worst dialogue across all of them including the late era Moore stuff (ok maybe that's a bit of a stretch). also god damn at the number of cuts in those action sequences!! first major one was giving me a headache trying to keep up. still think this is probably the worst Craig one (and def bottom tier overall), but also not a fan of SPECTRE at all which I'm gonna try to rewatch before catching the new one. wish me luck.
a brutally long Hong, in fact his longest to date, about a man spiraling in a foreign country. I don't think any other director is as good at capturing a man at his most pathetic. ranges from hilarious to cringe inducing to simply pitiable, but you never really can feel too sad for the dude.
it's too bad this didn't kick off a Kinski level run with Herzog and Cage together. pls give us more. Herzog even says he is down!!
"he's at his best, his finest performance ever, in my opinion, in Bad Lieutenant. And if I have a story, I would not hesitate five seconds to call him up and invite him. I think he would not hesitate to work with me again."
now go find the story you need Werner, we're all waiting.
