With The Power of the Dog being a Best Picture front runner, I’m excited that I finally had the time to get around to it. There were so many powerful performances, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst were all fantastic. Cumberbatch’s character was my favorite as he had so many different levels and layers. I loved the cinematography throughout,…

I had been seeing people raving about this movie for a while now, so finally was excited to get around to watching Encanto. And what a fun time this movie was, it’s so colorful and vibrant which speaks to how great the animation is. The story is really good too as I really liked all the uniqueness of each family member and their powers. The musical numbers worked…

Since my first experiences with Shakespeare in high school I have never been a fan. I don’t ever remember this story, but I was still skeptical going into The Tragedy of Macbeth. And it still remains, not a fan. The script sticks pretty close (I would think) to the original text and the dialogue was pretty much all lost for…

Nothing like watching Spider-Man: No Way Home as my first movie in 2022. This movie became even more incredible the second time around. This is the best MCU movie to date, and Spider-Man movie without a question. I love this character so this movie just brings all of that together in a perfect 2.5 hour movie. I can’t get over how great this is.

Licorice Pizza was my first ever experience with Paul Thomas Anderson. It’s been a while since I’ve had a hot take but this is one, this was not good. Now I know I’m giving this a mid score, most is appreciation for the filmmaking rather than my enjoyment. Because I will say straight up that I did not have a fun time while I was in the theater for this. The…

The Family Man is one of those Christmas movies that I try and see every year (last year missed it). It’s such an interesting concept and these kinds of stories are always right up my alley. Throw a little bit of a Christmas vibe in there and it makes for a fun time.

Bastille Day reminds me of that typical 90 minute clear cut action movie. I did have a fun time with this though as a popcorn flick. The action was really good and had some interesting fight sequences. The story itself was solid for what this movie was going for as it had a couple of different layers. I’m general, a good movie to turn on and not think too deeply about.
