This started playing while I was scrolling through Netflix bc of that super fucking annoying auto-play feature they have that just presses play whenever you stop scrolling for 0.000001 seconds but I totally got sucked in and watched the whole thing and it was really funny, one of the better specials I’ve seen in a while... like 25% was pretty genuinely insensitive (transphobia, victim blaming, etc) and people seem rightfully mad about it but also it’s just a comedy special and I thought the other 75% was great

Worst performance by a lead actor I’ve literally ever seen... Stephen Lack bro wyd

Let’s bail, Flavio, they’re all dead

Definitely entertaining and a little fucked up at times, gives you enough weirdness to keep you on your toes. I’m always interested in how other national cinemas portray America/Americans and this was a great example of us definitely being the bad guys (reminded me of The Host a little bit), also I feel like I could tell when it switched to English that the dialogue was written by a nonnative speaker (reminded me of Troll 2 lmao but to a WAY lesser extent) which was also an interesting role reversal for an American audience member like me.

Would be extremely pissed off if I was Cronenberg’s ex-wife but since I am not I enjoyed this movie

    Judas and the Black Messiah

Idk honestly I didn’t love this one... I kept wanting it to go deeper or for them to cut the narrative with more documentary footage bc the dramatization felt a lil empty and it became hard to decipher what events were real and why they were even happening/connected as for me the time period itself was the most interesting part. Most of the characters felt a little thin except for Stanfield’s and even then I feel like we never really learned that much about him... great performances from him and Kaluuya but as far as the movie itself is concerned I wasn’t blown away.

    The Kentucky Fried Movie

Watched w Dad to relive part of his childhood with him and mostly it was tons of 70s references that went completely over my head, also way more boobs in this movie than I could have ever possibly anticipated, definitely racist and sexist but still some good bits I always appreciate a good slapstick moment and some of the wordplay still hit especially the opening news segment skit, their take on astrology was on point

Most memorable/craziest/weirdest skits for me were the…

The more I think about this movie the more I hate John Cusak I mean I get it he’s “acting” or whatever but no one acts that well at being a dick without actually being a little bit of a dick irl... movie itself was good though
