Scarface ★★★★½

Scarface (1983) is the perfect classic gangster film. In my opinion, Al Pacino's performance in this movie has never been toped. A vain and psychopathic Cuban immigrant’s rise and fall in the criminal underworld makes for one of the best anti-heros in cinema.

Tony Montana has many layers, like the almost romantic love for his sister and his choice to not blow up a car with children inside. These soft parts of his character would eventually lead to his downfall, as Frank Lopez told him earlier in the film: those who want everything, will lose it all. It’s a classic and if you haven’t seen it, you should. I’m glad I got to see it in beautiful 4K for the first time.
