I want to get my thoughts out on this before I see the film. As I grow older I want more mature stories that I can relate to and enjoy. The past few Pixar films have done a great job at this and is part of the reason they are amongst some of my favorites the studio has put out. I respect Pixar for giving rookie directors full creative control but I wish Pixar would have kept that mature streak. Now I am sure Pixar will continue to explore more mature themes in later films but this one doesn’t seem like one I’d like that much. Looks like a cute fun animated film but for the first time on my life I am not excited for a Pixar film.
