to anyone who complained about taskmaster,
taskmaster isn’t the villain. dreykov is. and the reason he is the main villain is because this is a movie about women and made for the women in the audience. dreykov is the embodiment of every woman’s fears. he is an abuser. he is a kidnapper. he’s a man in power who repeatedly takes advantage of women (AND LITERAL CHILDREN) while getting away with it. making antonia the taskmaster makes a lot of sense because she is a just fellow victim. it allows natasha to make amends for the past and save victims who had the same abuser. i loved how it was interpreted and she fits well within the story and what it’s meant to represent. and if you choose to ignore that, then you’re misogynistic
