Perhaps the best part of THE LAST DUEL is the increasing amount of side-eye the female characters deliver as the male characters say and act with evolving stupidity.
Unfortunately, I found the film's own narrative structure to be its own worst enemy. The film's momentum was neutered twice to ostensibly reinforce what is already clear early on... Damon is a loser, Driver a preening ponce, and Comer not as meek as we should assume.
