Best horror since 2000

Of course, just our opinion. Star ratings do not quite apply; criteria includes:

-Depth of meaning/themes underlying the scares
-How well it has aged
-The effectiveness of how the horror serves the story and its telling
-Overall scariness
-Rewatchability
-Inventiveness, originality, and creativity of filmmaking and delivery of horror
-How memorable the film is

What if the film mixes genres and is difficult to categorize? Our answer: if it undeniably contains scares and horror elements, it qualifies for the list. (Therefore, 'The Clovehitch Killer' and 'Mulholland Dr.', two films absolutely rich in scares and horror but that IMDb does not categorize as "horror," qualify for this particular list.)
