    Any scene in this film involving roofies is more horrifically dated than the music or even the fashion, and it's certainly bold to rip off The Apartment and NOT have a strong ending, but I still found this effortlessly entertaining and occasionally relatable in brutally specific ways.

    Again, everyone keeps using the wrong reference points. Network and Drive are easy, superficial comparisons, but the real meat of this film has more in line with William Friedkin's brutal cynicism (though differing on time periods, one could imagine the events of this film happening in some distant corner of To Live and Die in LA), as well as the spectator politics/morality-of-art ideas posited by Man Bites Dog.
