Paul 7String’s review published on Letterboxd:
I saw this movie because I've read a lot of good comments about it. I can see that it does have a lot of thought provoking commentary but as a quality film, it is not very good.
The best thing about this is the performance of David Thewlis. He is worth watching in this even though I felt that he was trying too hard or overacting in the beginning. He got better as it moved along and really did a great job.
In terms of story it is a mess. There are random dialogue and random characters. Some of which do not offer anything to the progress of the story. There is no script to this movie and most of the dialogue came from improv sessions before filming and it shows.
If you don't like to watch men abusing women then don't watch this film. But watch this only for the acting performances.
