Paul Hibbard’s review published on Letterboxd:
I was huge into wrestling when I was younger. I was all about the Monday night wars. The start of the NWO was my jam. Austin, The Rock, Angle. Loved all that.
Then I stopped watching and now when I watch a movie like Fighting With My Family, it makes me a little sad I had no idea who Paige was going into it. Because her story from rags to wrestling riches just charmed the hell out of me. This is one of 3 great performances Florence Pugh gave last year. Plus you have Stephen Merchant's dark humor spread throughout, like when the other wrestlers love her accent so much they have her read from a newspaper as she reads an article of children in a house fire. And of course Vince Vaughn's really solid performance.
This was the right combination of the perfect true story and the talent to make it work so great.
